Frankincense Boswellia Black "Sticky" Sacra from Salalah Oman
This is called "Sticky" Frankincense Boswellia Black Sacra . It comes from Salalah which is the capital and largest city of the southern Omani governorate of Dhofar. Hojari sacra comes from Dhofar but in the Hojari mountains, which is north of Salalah so actually the resin that comes from the tree is a bit different.
This is considered 2nd-grade black sacra, mainly because it is very sticky and a bit tricky to work with, It smells exactly like Black sacra, sweet and spicey.
I purchased this one a while back but because it was so sticky it became a big blob and took forever to break up. I decided to try again because this one is extremely fresh and easier to break up.
You are getting it in bigger pieces with some small pieces mixed in. It is full of oleoresin gum like the Black sacra from the Hojari Mountains only it is gooier ie sticky.
I actually got this at a better price than last time and that is another reason I decided to get it in again.
It can be made into an herbal infusion but whatever you use it might be a bit harder to remove the sediments. It is used in perfumes, incense and medicinal purposes.
I do not recommend burning it unless you are outside because it is so gooey and sticky that it will melt really fast and might make a mess. I suggest you use charcoal with this resin,
Resins may irritate the skin so please handle with care.
